The Purpose of the Artist is to Enrich the Environment
In my quest to capture the essence of Vis Vitalis—the vital spark—I have explored the intersections of art, science, and spirituality. This life force, which I believe imbues both living beings and inanimate matter, has been the primary inspiration for my work over the last several years. My paintings serve as an exploration of existence across all scales, from the invisible vibrations of the quantum realm to the vast complexities of the macro world. As a contemporary abstract artist, I integrate multiple styles to reflect this multifaceted energy.
My creative perspective is deeply informed by my scientific background. My journey began with a degree in Veterinary Medicine, where I gained a profound understanding of anatomy and the fragility of life through surgical practice. I furthered my exploration of the natural world at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski," earning a Bachelor’s in Biological Science. This period allowed me to bridge the gap between field research and the microscopic wonders of cellular biology. Finally, a Master’s in Cognitive Science provided me with a window into the human brain, psychology, and the frontiers of Artificial Intelligence.
Though my formal education was rooted in science, my foundation in the Fine Arts began in early childhood through private mentorship. Born in Ihtiman, Bulgaria, in 1987, I spent my youth immersed in local forests—an experience that fostered a "Mowgli-like" connection to the wild. It was this early bond with nature that compelled me to pursue the concept of Vis Vitalis, though I initially chose the path of scientific inquiry to understand it.
After years of academic rigor and a successful venture establishing a bio-farm, I reached a definitive turning point in 2021. This was a year of "releasing"—letting go of the external concepts and structures that had limited my creative spirit. I chose to pivot from exploring the exterior world to venturing inward.
I realized that Vis Vitalis is not merely something to be studied in a lab; it is a force that resides within me. I discovered that the only way to truly explore this vital spark is through the act of creation. Since then, I have dedicated myself entirely to Art, translating a lifetime of scientific observation into a visual language of energy, spirit, and existence.
